Stash In The Attic

It arrived

More Tim stuff. My TSV!!! Yay. I have had an unexpected day off work today which has meant I have had time to get using it. Here is the first scrapbook page using lots of Tim stuff.

I used the grungeboard alphas for the title. Painted with Paint dabbers, edged with distress ink. One has some stickles on it and is filled with glossy accents. I covered the back of the vellum quote block with alcohol inks. I used a fragment charm with the kitty sticker behind it. I used perfect pearls on the paw print stamp. Its very simple and not brilliant but at least it has got me experimenting and using my stash! 

I have also used different techniques from the book to prep some tags & ATC's. I have no idea what I'll do to them next but I'm sure I'll think of something. I used the paint resist technique, blended some inks using the ink tool and stamped and used the distress embossing powders. I also tried the shabby chic technique on the red tag.

Now I think it's time for some dinner and settling down to my knitting. I have just signed up for the next Easyknits sushi shawl along so really need to get the 1st one finished. Not far to go now......
 

Off to Scrap Fever

I haven't been to a scrapbooking weekend in yonks so I am TOTALLY looking forward to this one. Donna Downey is teaching which should be fab - I have attended classes run by Tim Holtz, Tracy White and other American teachers and I find it really interesting using the products they supply and seeing things from their viewpoint. I don't know why but I find it different from the british teachers I've had - maybe I'm just weird. Well, I have printed my photos for the classes, which must be a first. Normally I am totally unprepared but this time I have made the effort. Having this week off work has been a great help too. I have also picked some photos, patterned paper and Cardstock with sketches for other layouts too - although I think this may be a little ambitious, to think I will actaully SCRAP at a crop instead of socialising and catching up with all my friends. I can't wait to see Vanessa. It has been forever since I saw her last and so much has changed, so I'm sure we'll have a big hug and a very large catch up session. Well as usual my clothes are the last thing to be packed. I am just about to head off to bed for an early night with a scrapbook magazine for any last minute ideas. I'm setting off after lunch tomorrow so hope to arrive at the venue at around 2.30 -3pm all depending on M25 traffic!!!! Bluughhh. Hopefully I'll be back blogging on Sunday with loads of photos of my pals and things that I have made.......we'll see!!

Ally Pally

Well we had a fab day. I took Katie and Sally came along too. Got a few yummy bits including Tim Holtz grungeboard and fragments which I've already played with. Some paint dabbers with a nice tin. A few papers, basic grey Sugared and Fancy pants. I also treated myself to a bejeweler which I have wanted for ages. The Banana Frog stand had so much yummy stuff on it - I could have bought it all!  Here is a photo of Katie outside holding all our stuff    

It was quite busy so lucky we'd taken our own packed lunch and had our comfy shoes on! Some of the stands had sweets at the till which gave us the much needed energy boost between stalls. Now I'd better go and get scrapping with all that yummy new stash!

No place like home

Shimelles new online class. Could this be the thing to get me back into blogging again. I doubt if there is anyone out there still checking my blog as I've been gone so long!!!!  Well, if anyone is there, the class started on Monday and I have managed one of the prompts as I've been sick with a stinking cold. Here is my first page I've used some old old photos from the bottom of my photobox and also a couple downloaded from Flikr - thank you to the photographer!  I have also figured out a few things about my own camera as a result of this class and have taken a couple of shots from funny angles etc. I'm pleased with the results. I am currently working on another prompt and fiinishing a minibook I started before we even moved into the house - I will finish it today and I will upload some photos tomorrow. Thanks to anyone who is still out there and visiting my blog.

Last weekend was the cybercrop

So it takes me a WHOLE week to get around to posting my pages from last weekends Cybercrop - terrible I know.  Oh well, I was a heart and we came last :( but no worries - I made lots of cool stuff and gained lots of ideas and inspiration to keep me scrapping for a few more weeks yet. This one was a class from Shimelle.  I so love these papers. The photo was one taken by Cheryl Johnston at her feelgood studio.  I love it :)

This layout was another class page and meant I got to scrap the kitties again - any excuse.  I love these 7gypsies stickers and photos of Ben with Bauer.

Another photo taken by Cheryl, Banana Frog stamps and Nats cool layout idea, using those decorative scissors again.  I feel bad - just before chistmas Martins Dad was going to buy a set for his Mum and I told him not to, because NO ONE uses them anymore!!!!!!!  Now all I need is for someone to make fibers fashionable again.....

Another LO finished

I think I need to go and lay down. Here is another Layout. Of the kittens. I am so pleased that I seem to have got back into the creative flow - since moving I feel like I haven't got much stuff done.  Maybe the cold winter evenings have given me a kick up the backside to get on and use some stash. My nect project is my 'turning 30 album'.  yes, that's right on Saturday I will no longer be in my twenties and I want to cry.  I am sad but in a way I feel like I am slowly moving into adulthood.  Not before time some people would say.  With a mortgage and bills to pay, two little kitties depending on me and being engaged I feel a little more mature, but I don't think I'll have fully grown up until I have kids of my own.  At the rate I am going, without any date even set for the wedding yet, I'm guessing that is some way off yet. We're going away for my birthday to the Llandudno Lighthouse in Wales.  Martins friend at work owns it and his wife runs it as a B&B.  Apparantly its been voted amongst the most romantic places to stay in Britain!  I am sure I will update you all with photos and stories when I get back - and I'll officially be IN MY THIRTIES. Arrghhhh

Christmas journal time

And I can't wait till 1st December! It is a class to make a christmas journal by Shimelle Laine shimelles site here I have done this class for the last 2 years so am giving it another go this year.  Seeing as christmas is my favourite holiday of all time, I have to try and document it all.  I have my 8x8 album all ready for me to start on Friday.  I have a large stash of christmassy stuff and am receiveing the emails from the yahoo group.  I am planinng on putting up one of my christmas trees on friday too, so can sit around it with my notebook and plan my page.  Can you tell I am excited????

UKScrappers Cybercrop

Not only did I scrap loads of photos of the cats at scrapmanic but this cybercrop has seen much of the same.  Here is my LO inspired by Nat's class.  I loved stamping onto the transparency.  It's nice to actually use them for something.  The next class I attempted was Gills mini book class . It is a really cute size - perfect for sitting on my scrap desk so I can look at my kitty's whilst I scrap. Shimelles class inspired me to create this LO .  I really liked the method of putting this page together and will hopefully use this technique again either for a theme album or maybe for Shims xmas journal class.  I can't believe it is nearly december already!!! I have my album for this project and lots of xmassy bits to start off.  I can't wait till 1st December.

ScrapManic

Had a FAB time this weekend at Barnett Hill,  I hadn't been to the last couple so it was lovely to get to it this time.  Spent far too much in the shop as usual and ate too much bad stuff, but the desserts were so scrummy.  The treacle sponge and profiteroles with choc sauce mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.  I scrapped all photos of kittens - I am sure people were sick to death of looking at them by the end of the weekend. It was great to see so many people in the flesh that I normally only speak to online.  That bad girl Jules showed me her Cricut and convinced me that I needed one (it didn't take much) and then as if it was meant to be Fiona announced she had them ready to ship today.  Well it would have been rude not to so I ordered one.  I so can't wait for it to arrive so I can play!!!!!!!  Hopefully it will arrive in time for the UKScrappers cybercrop........  I will be producing some wonderful titles :)

Determined to create SOMETHING!

So many of my online friends have been very productive recently, they have shamed me into using up some of my stash and actually creating something! My Self Addressed arrived this week and it is so bright and lovely that I have to do something with it!  I also have seen Gillies star book and I have one decorated, awaiting photos so those are my challenges for today.  I have been so preoccupied planning for the house, looking at websites, searching in stores that I haven't given scrapping a thought.

I must confess that I broke down on Friday and did have a curry - the full works!   My treat was brought forward a day or four.  It was very nice and I SO needed it.  As a result of that and not eating enough fruit I stayed the same weight last week.  The week ahead will be hard as I'm out for a meal for a friends birthday on Thursday at Blubeckers and on Saturday I am off up to Durham to visit Zoe for the weekend.  I will take a huge bag of fruit on the train going up and hopefully ignore all the lovely cake and cookie shops at Kings Cross. 

Anyway didn't I say something about scrapping today...............
