Sock Knitting

I have made good progress on a second pair of socks for Martin. I laid out all my sock yarn and asked him to pick which one he wanted and he picked Opal Harry Potter Tonks! I was very surprised due to the pink in it but he seems to like it. These socks should have been knitted in time for his birthday but alas progress on the second one has been hampered due to my rediscovering scrapping. I am now aiming to have them finished by Valentines day!

Its official - I have been hit by this cough that is going around and have been having problems sleeping. I am lucky to be here after almost choking on a Halls Soother in the middle of the night. I woke up in a coughing fit, popped one in my nouth, coughed again and then realised that I had swallowed it whole! I am so glad it went down the right pipe as Martin is away and I don't know how well I could have beaten it out of myself!

I have today completed another layout. Yes, you guessed it - using another scrapagogo kit. Thank the lord for kits and sketches because without either of these I'd probably still be searching through my TONS of Patterned papers for the first layout!

We took this photo at Alton Towers last summer. When we saw this sign we had to have Ben pose next to it. There is no doubting that this boy lives in his own little world (a bit like me I suppose) so this was a perfect photo opportunity.

I am now halfway through listening to Breaking Dawn and off to scrap some more before work tomorrow :-(

More scrapbooking

After being away from scrapping for SO LONG I have been surprised at how easy it is to make a Layout. I think maybe I had gotten too tied up in the 'having to make every page perfect' and the 'not wanting to cut into that bit of patterned paper in case I need it for something else' habit. I am very pleased to report that I *think* I may have shrugged those restrictions off - for now anyway.

For this page about a trip to Bluebeckers (with their scrummy ribs) I used a scrapagogo kit and a whole little pack of grommlets that came with my Big bite!!! I actually opened a pack of rub-ons and used two of them. I have reconnected my Cricut to my PC & sorted out my Sure Cuts a Lot and used that for the title on both layouts.

This was done for the UKS week 4 challenge - although I'm not in any team so don't collect points - I liked the idea of using a sketch and bling. I also cut into another scrapagogo kit for this one - wait....I'm breaking out in a cold sweat now. All this using stuff instead of hoarding it is very strange......but totally enjoyable and liberating!!!!

Whilst scrapping the above I have noticed that my neighbours have put their house up for sale. I feel very strange about it - I like knowing who I have living right opposite me. We all moved into our houses at the same time right after they were built. They are really nice, friendly people and they are quiet and always home so keep an eye on our house whilst we're out working. They know everything thats going on in the local area as they're retired and very inquisitive (ok nosey) I have seen one really nice looking couple looking at the house this afternoon. They arrived in a new Mini metro, looked nicely dressed and look like decent folk.....oh I hope whoever moves in is nice and quiet and hopefully the woman will be a crafter. Off for a bubble bath now before I burst a blood vessel with the stress of it all. 

What have I been up to

I'm not going to apologise again for being gone so long - I'll just get back to some good stuff. I haven't been up to much craft-wise except knitting socks. I have been listening to lots of knitting podcasts and buying lots of knitty stuff. Also I'm still subscribing to the scrapagogo kit. I have been working, listening to Audiobooks and enjoying christmas and new year. 

After booking our holiday back to Kanuhura I am back on the slimming world. It is going really well thanks to the Extra easy plan. lost 8lb so far since NY day but have had a few days out due to Claire visiting and Martins birthday etc. It's my birthday today HOORAY! I've been for a facial and back massage and have the day off - what could be better??

I am currently listening to the final book in the Twilight series on my iPod. I have been reading Dawn French's autobiography which I am really enjoying. I am knitting Martins second pair of socks and I actually scrapbooked last sunday

 

The layout is a photo of me & Karen taken at Scrap fever last April. I am booked up for this years retreat too and need to get out of my scrapping block before it comes round.   I have actually used one of my scrapagogo kits to make this page. I have been 'collecting' them for a fair few months yet but never got around to using one. SO I am pleased to say I have now completed a layout entirely from the most recent kit Frilly Apron.

I also made three cards using stash so that felt good. To finally be using stuff up and using tools I've had for ages (some I've bought & not even used since)

I am actually about to start another layout before Martin takes me out for Dinner tonight. We're going to Bluebeckers and I am totally having Ribs yum yum yum.
